I play in a basketball league at the South YMCA and sometimes while driving home, I take the scenic route just to see what random restaurants could pop up.
While cruising Seneca, there’s one restaurant I noticed that has been there for years. So I thought to myself, “What’s the best way to hydrate yourself after two hours of basketball?”
Mexican salsa and tacos of course.
That brings our latest review: Tacos Mexican Fast Food.

Tacos Mexican Fast Food is your typical hole in the wall taco shop. Even the name of the restaurant is as typical as you can get!
The menu is what you would find at most quick mom and pop shops that sell tacos and other Mexican fare.
Inside, the place is very tiny with seating for maybe 25 people.
I was on a quick stop so I ordered the two basics I’ll try at any place like this: Carne Asada and a couple street tacos. If they can do those two things right, they get my vote of confidence.
After ordering, I stopped by the salsa bar and grabbed little cups of each sauce.
For reference, the middle two were my favorite. It was the green mild and the spicy red. The lady working that day didn’t tell me what was what so that’s what I’m going to call them. Creative….I know.
As expected, it didn’t take long for the food to arrive.
The two tacos started off my post basketball hydration and were excellent; nicely seasoned meat with light toppings that all held well within the soft tortilla. Nothing was over; it was your simple street taco that satisfied.
The Carne Asada was about as good as most quick style Mexican places I’ve been to in town and trust me, it’s been a lot. There was plenty of food to go around on the plate and enough to fill anybody.
All in all, Tacos Mexican Fast Food was on par with most of the similar places you’ll find all around town. This one just happened to be on my way home and worth the stop for me.
From the prices, the menu, the food, most adventurous diners will know what to expect.
I read a bad review about the service and my experience great. The young staffer answered all my questions and took care of all my needs. She even spent her downtime, wiping down counters, sweeping, and cleaning anything she could. For a small hole in the wall, the place isn’t going to be the cleanest looking restaurant but she valued it enough to take care of it. I appreciated that a lot.
If I’m in the area, I would certainly go again and recommend it to others.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
