Little Lion Ice Cream Breakfast Review

Last year we did a review on Little Lion Ice Cream’s ice cream which we found delicious. After following their social media pages, we noticed they were serving breakfast items. It looks as though Little Lion Ice Cream also found a permanent location to serve their delicious treats and that calls for a review.

Be sure to go to the Espresso to Go at 1st and Market. I originally made the stop on Douglas and found myself to be at the wrong one.

Here’s the menu at Little Lion Ice Cream:

The menu doesn’t have the prices listed. From what I recall, the breakfast burritos were roughly $7 with meat or $6.50 with no meat. Waffles ranged anywhere from $9 to $12 depending on what you ordered.

This was an impromptu visit to Little Lion Ice Cream so I decided to pig out since I wasn’t sure if I would be returning anytime soon. I went with the breakfast burrito with meat and the waffle parfait. Both items rang up at $16.50 and didn’t take too long to arrive.

The waffle parfait was delicious. The waffle itself that had a nice crispy texture to it but still soft enough that was plastic fork would be able to cut right through it. The one drawback was the little amount of yogurt on top. After seeing pictures of their waffles with huge scoops of ice cream, I was expecting a little more on there.

Next up was the breakfast burrito. For seven dollars, I found the burrito to be rather small in size. For that much money at other restaurants, you can get large burritos that are almost like meals for two. Regardless, I was open to paying that much if the taste blew me away. Unfortunately, it didn’t. The potatoes outnumbered any other ingredient inside the burrito which made it a little dryer. There wasn’t much in the way of eggs which are extremely important to any breakfast burrito. While the salsa helped out, I would have been happier had there been a better ratio of potatoes to eggs and meat.

Given my fantastic experience at Little Lion Ice Cream with my nieces, I would have to say this go around was more disappointing than anything.

Was your experience any different? We would love to hear back from you in the comments.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
