Las Mananitas Review

During National Taco Day, there were dollar tacos being slung all over the city. We didn’t want to miss out on the fun so chose a restaurant we’ve never been to for our visit on the big holiday. Our choice was Las Mananitas and they are the subject of our latest taco review.

Inside Las Mananitas, you’ll find a grocery store but our focus was strictly on the tacos. While we paid a dollar that day for them, please don’t feel like you missed out. Every Wednesday, they have dollar taco days. There are also specials every day of the week there.

For our visit we ordered an assortment of different tacos from Asada to Al Pastor to Pollo to Tripas. For how busy Las Mananitas was, the service was fantastic and fairly quick. It didn’t take long to receive our tacos and we were treated with chips and salsa while we waited.

As excited as we were for the tacos, they ended up a let down. The tripas were undercooked and too chewy for our taste. Trust us, when it comes to tripas, undercooked is not a good thing.

Then the rest of the tacos were on the dry side with a huge onion ratio to them. My colleagues had to douse them with different sauces just to get a little more flavor to it. There wasn’t a single flavor that really stuck out for us and we were just underwhelmed by the whole experience.

In short, Las Mananitas wasn’t a winner in our book which is tough given all the competition in the area for tacos.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
