Last month the newest Thai fried ice cream roll restaurant made its way to Wichita. Freezing Moo opened their doors at Greenwich Place and for those west-siders who feel left out; fear not as a west side location is on the way to New Market.

The look and feel of Freezing Moo is similar to what one could expect at most rolled ice cream establishments. When you arrive, you order at the counter and then go watch your ice cream be rolled.
The menu has preset options or you can create your own. The price for the rolled ice cream runs $5.99 which includes 3 toppings. If you’re wondering how that compares to the competition, it’s one penny cheaper than the others who charge $6. A penny saved is a penny earned!
For those people who have dietary concerns, Freezing Moo has dairy free and vegan options available at no extra cost. I tried their dairy free option which is made with coconut milk. If you’re big into waffle cones, you can add one in your cup for 99 cents.
As usual, watching your ice cream rolled is where the real fun starts especially for the kids or myself who is essentially a kid.
My nieces had their own little creations while I went with the dairy free Cookie Monster. The staff there was very friendly and engaging with the kids as they put on the show. The end result was an eye-opening delicious wonder for my nieces.
How did it taste? It tasted as we all expected; everybody loved it. The texture was like any other place in town. My creation with the coconut milk definitely had that coconut aftertaste to it. Adding the waffle cone was fantastic. Sidenote: it’s always hard for me to say no to a waffle cone.
The price point is technically right on par with the rest of the competition in town. The service was just as good as well. One little addition they have is the ability to take pictures while you’re there and post them on the way; in fact it’s encouraged. They have a printer there that you can connect your iPhone to and print pictures from your phone. From there, they have tape and you can tape your pictures to the wall for display.
If you’ve been to any other rolled ice cream place, this is another option that is worth a try. The kids loved it and are excited to make it back soon!
