Fans of Hunan Cafe may notice a grand opening sign out in front of their building. It appears the owner of Hunan Cafe has decided to retire and sell the restaurant to other family members. Instead of keeping the name, the family decided to rebrand the restaurant.
Hunan Cafe is now known as Nam Viet Chinese Food. Mostly everything else there remains the same from the interior to the menu. The only major change is they are now closed on Mondays.
I overheard that Hunan Cafe used to be cash only so that looks to have changed as well but the owner said they sometimes have problems with their card reader.
Those people who have never been there, Nam Viet Chinese Food carries your basic Chinese dishes from chow mein to low mein to many different beef, pork and chicken entrees commonly found at Chinese restaurants.
On a quick stop to Nam Viet, I settled with the Mongolian Beef special. The beef was pretty good but the dish overall was very salty. The fried rice had a slight little smokey burnt taste to it.
I’ve actually never been to the previous Hunan Cafe so this was all new to me. Just thought I’d pass it on to you in case you were a big fan of Hunan Cafe and wondering what happened.
