Decent little Greek restaurant in the least likely of places

No area of town is off limits for Wichita By E.B.

If they are licensed to serve food, we will give it a shot. Thus the latest adventure brought us to Towne West Square. It’s a true ghost town inside there but we had a restaurant to knock out. The food court was very limited but the best option there was hands down Greek Plus. Granted the lighting doesn’t work and it wasn’t too inviting, we still gave it a go for you to see.

Greek Plus is a Mediterranean and Greek restaurant. Most items on their menu run $5-8 which is extremely affordable for anyone.

On our visit, we went with the lamb gyro and the Greek platter which had a little bit of everything. The restaurant was a one man operation the afternoon we went. It took him roughly 10 minutes to get our food prepared; not bad for doing everything by himself.

From the first bite, we were actually surprised at the food. While it wasn’t the quality of a Bella Luna or Cafe Maurice, it was still pretty good. My brother enjoyed his lamb gyro saying the lamb was tender, seasoned well and flavorful. I let him try some of my hummus because that’s the kind, generous, loving type of brother I am. Once again, he was surprised. The hummus had a light garlic aftertaste which really went well with my meal. Like my brother said, it was all flavorful. While the salad was a little heavy with the vinegar, the meat and rice helped tone that down.

Honestly it wasn’t half bad. We’d almost call it high quality fast Mediterranean food.

Greek Plus should really get the neon lighting fixed. From a distance, you cannot tell what the restaurant is or if its even open. It really did have a sad appeal to them which made me feel bad. Since I’m not a property owner, I’m not sure if that’s on the restaurant or Towne West. If it’s on the business, I understand why they wouldn’t want to fix it with the mall’s future up in disarray.

While I can’t say this is a restaurant I’d go out of my way for, we were still pretty impressed with the food they offered. There really wasn’t a single bad thing to say about the food. For those people that shop at Towne West, this is certainly an affordable lunch option to keep in mind. They are the true stars of the food court there.

Here was their dinner menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy

  1. I work at the soon to be closed call center in the old Sears building, and Greek plus is definitely a go to.
