Did you know the average American eats two pounds of pretzels a year? I’m a sucker for a good warm pretzel and probably skewed that average to be higher. Nearly every time I’m traveling, walking through the airport room, or even walking around Towne East or the Legends Outlet in KC, there’s one stop I have to make, Auntie Anne’s.
Based out of Pennsylvania, they are an extremely popular chain with 1,500 locations throughout the world. There are two Wichita locations at Towne East and Towne West Square both of which are open during regular mall hours.
My favorite thing to get at Auntie Anne’s? The pretzel bites. Whether it’s the original or cinnamon sugar ones, they are nice bite-sized, grab and go cups that allow me to do one of the nation’s new national past time: shop and eat at the same time.
When we don’t order the nuggets, we stick to to the jalapeno pretzel or the cinnamon sugar pretzel. They are absolutely the best when fresh and warm.
Lines can sometimes become very long for Auntie Anne’s but its worth it to me and it moves quick. You order, you pay, they hand you your pretzel. The only time it gets behind is when they are out of pretzels and need to make more.
For the times I’m not at the mall or traveling, I’d love to find a local place that serves delicious pretzels. So if you have a recommendation come throw it my way in the comments below!
Happy Dining,
Eddy
