Local restaurants come out to support one big burger fan’s wish

It all started with a post in my Facebook group. A lady named Turza was asking for a greasy burger suggestion and she needed one soon.

Why? Her niece was in Hospice and one of her request was to have a juicy, greasy cheeseburger.

Many people threw out a ton of different recommendations on where to go. I tossed out the suggestion of Buster’s Burger Joint. Not too long after, Buster Fairleigh, jumped on and was willing to help grant that wish. Turza eventually took him up on the offer.

Other restaurants like Doo-Dah Diner and Ty’s Diner even made an offer to help ease her niece’s stay which really touched Turza.

Her niece tried the burger this weekend and just loved it. Turza sent me the following picture and wanted me to pass on the thanks not just to Buster Fairleigh at Buster’s Burger Joint but the other restaurants along with everyone who sent in words of encouragement. They felt beyond blessed.

One of the nice things about local restaurants is those owners interact with people. It’s not some social media manager behind the scenes doing the work but the real people running the show. It’s great to see places band together and support our people. Everybody who offered burgers had no idea I would even write this; they did it out of the kindness of their own heart.

National chains like McDonald’s may have over a billion served but this weekend, Turza’s niece was more important than all those billions. Thanks to Buster for stepping in along with Kristin Hale at Ty’s Diner and Timirie Shibley at Doo-Dah Diner for their willingness to help.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
