Often times new restaurants stick to the same genre of food that can easily be found in Wichita. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but sometimes you want something new and refreshing.
Introducing Keeper of the Crepes, a restaurant dedicated to….. you guessed it… crepes! It’s the first standalone restaurant in Wichita to feature the dish.

The restaurant is located in Delano in the former Chocolate Fountain Event Rental space.
The menu consists of sweet and savory crepes along with a handful of different salad options.
They had two specials available; one featuring a savory option and the other a sweet crepe. My order consisted of their roast beef crepe which came with a salad. I went with the Le Jardin. And the sweet crepe was a homemade blueberry jam crepe. Blueberries are my jam so a blueberry jam crepe made complete sense.
Both crepes came out quickly and smelled great. I’m going to try to avoid hyping this up to you but it was truly heavenly. The thin pancake was so light and airy. The roast beef crepe had plenty of roast beef and fit so well with the crepe. The salad offered a zesty kick to balance out the savoriness of my lunch. Every bite was easy to cut away with my fork and nearly melted in my mouth.
My blueberry jam was similar. I loved how it wasn’t so abundantly sweet. They had just the right amount of blueberries to give it that flavor it was aiming for but not overwhelm you with it.
Crepes can be tough because if you make it too thin it can fall apart or have no substance. Then if it’s too thick, it’s tough, dense and not even worth your time. Keeper of the Crepes nailed the texture down.
It was a breath of fresh air to have Keeper of the Crepes added to my list of new restaurants to try. It’s just the type of dish that the city needs to give more variety to our restaurant scene. I hope Wichita can give them some love or at least a try.
On top of that, the gentlemen working that day were on top of everything from having the order out to the tables in a timely manner and making sure all was OK.
Here’s their menu:
Happy Dining,
