China King Review

There’s another Chinese restaurant in Wichita you may have driven by many times but don’t know the name of. One because the sign is faded or two because there are just so many of these style of restaurants in town. The next quick-service Chinese restaurant visit brought us to China King.

By looking at the menu alone, I would have thought I’ve been there before. The menu uses the same template often found at a plethora of similar places.

For this visit, I went with the orange chicken, fried rice and some vegetable spring rolls.

Let’s just make this review quick to save you time. The fried rice was a very lazy attempt. It might have been steamed rice with yellow food coloring. There was absolutely no flavor to it and all the soy sauce in the world couldn’t have helped it. The vegetable springs rolls were the best by default. I’m not sure if they were frozen beforehand, but they definitely lacked any semblance of freshness to it.

Last but not least was the orange chicken. The chicken was a little overcooked and tough, but we didn’t bother finishing it after finding something that didn’t belong in the dish not once but twice. We threw it out immediately and snacked on a bag of chips that night.

These restaurants are a dime a dozen and while not opposed to second visits after a bad review, it’d take some good persuasion for me to spend more money there again.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
