Larkspur Bistro & Bar Lunch Review

It’s probably been a good decade since I have last been to Larkspur Bistro & Bar. They are a downtown restaurant located near Douglas & Washington that is a blend of Mediterranean, French, Italian & American entrées. Their menu consists of seafood, steaks, pastas, appetizers and various desserts. We stopped by for lunch to check it out and give diners a look at what to expect.

During our visit, we started off with the Thai Beef lettuce wraps as an appetizer. It was a decent start to our meal. I enjoyed the Thai beef but wanted to note it was much sweeter in flavor than I thought it’d be. But even with that, it was a good starter course for the rest of what was to come.

For lunch, I went with the Salmon BLT and my friend ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad.

I love Ahi tuna with an intense passion and probably should have ordered that. It looked amazing. My friend said it was delicious, felt very fresh and a nice healthy meal for a midday lunch. She called it her go-to on every visit to Larkspur.

Regarding my meal, I was such a huge fan of the pasta salad it came with. It’s probably top five pasta salad for me in town. It was light on the dressing, contained no black olives and just a refreshing little bowl of noodles and vegetables. While I very rarely give number rankings on meals, I would probably give my BLT salmon a 7 on a 10 scale. The salmon while pretty flavorful was a little drier than I would have liked. They received a big thumbs up on the ciabatta and the bacon which was thick, juicy and all sorts of tasty.

The service was top-notch from beginning to end.

For a downtown lunch, it’s definitely on the pricier said depending on what you order when compared to other options. Our meal was $45 a change for two people. That was with two meals, an app and one drink. Always something to take into consideration if you’re price conscientiousness.

Overall a good meal and a nice quiet place to go over lunch.
