It’s been a while since our last visit to Fish & More. A lot has changed to the small little hole in the wall restaurant on south Oliver. They’ve since added patio and changed their menu.
If you’ve never heard of the place, it’s located on Oliver & Mt. Vernon in the former Maddie’s Soul Food Carryout location.

The menu at Fish & More consists of whole catfish dinners, shrimp, catfish nuggets, buffalo fish ribs, chicken wings, hot links, baby back ribs, livers, gizzards, and even smoked turkey legs. It’s a collection of phenomenal comfort foods.
On my last visit, I went with their big whole catfish dinner which was wonderful.
So I wanted to change it up just slightly on my most recent visit. Since it was a Friday during Lent, I went with the catfish filet and catfish nuggets. The catfish filets were boneless and a little denser in texture than the regular catfish steak meals. It came with a side of my choice so I went with greens.
As I expected, the meal was delicious. I just love the light seasoned breading on the catfish at Fish & More. It’s simple, tasty and not so salty. The catfish nuggets made for a great alternative to chicken nuggets during Lent. They tasted just like the catfish filet (as they should) but in smaller bites.
Everything at Fish & More is made to order and only took around 8 minutes for my carryout order; not bad at all for a busy Friday during Lent. I’ve never been disappointed there and consider them one of my favorite spots in town.
