There’s been a shortage on miniature donuts with closings over the past couple years of Miri’s Mini’s and The Dapper Doughnut. Mini-donuts are nice because they allow you to try multiple different flavors without having to eat an entire large donut….. not that it’s a bad thing.
A dessert shop who recently moved to 6470 E Central has now added mini-donuts to their repertoire. River City Sweet Shop who also makes cakes, cupcakes, cakeballs, you name it, has been making mini-donuts available to customers as a new dessert to add to their portfolio of treats that are readily available.

I had a couple dozen different mini-cake donuts and there was no way I was going to finish them off by myself. I employed the help of my colleagues who had no problem lending a helping hand.
There were multiple different flavors to choose from. There were chocolate, lemon, regular cake style, and strawberry based cake donuts with a multitude of different toppings. The biggest different between River City’s mini-donuts and the past donut shops were easily the toppings. They really brought a new level to them. But something to note as well, the key comment I received from nearly everybody was how light and fluffy they were for a cake donut. Sometimes cake donuts can be dense or dry, that wasn’t the case here.
If you were a big fan of mini-donuts, you can welcome them back to Wichita thanks to River City Sweet Shop.
A dozen of them costs $15.99 with the toppings or you can get a plain glaze for $12.99.
Here’s the rest of their menu.
