Towne East Square closing due to coronavirus starting 7 p.m. Wednesday

This one will affect not just many restaurants but businesses. Simon Property Group, the largest owner of shopping malls in the nation, announced they are closing all of their malls and retail properties amid coronavirus concerns.

This will include Towne East Square. The closing of all stores will go into effect on Wednesday at 7pm. The anticipated date of reopen is March 29 but that could be subject to change.

“The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance, and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” president and CEO David Simon said in the release.

FYI, this does not affect Dillards which will remain open at Towne East.

No word on what will happen to Towne West Square as they are owned separately from Towne East Square.
