In case you didn’t know, Manna Wok rocks!

Manna Wok

I’ve been trying to stop by small little family owned restaurants that I haven’t been to in a while. The latest stop on “Coronavirus Carryout Tour” was Manna Wok. They are a tiny gem located near Harry and Oliver. 2020 marks the 25th year, they’ve been dishing out some of the best Korean food Wichita has to offer.

Currently, they are doing carryout orders where you can pick your food up from the front window of the building.

I stopped by to pick up lunch for myself and walked with what looked like my own Family Meal enough to feed 4-6 people.

I ordered the K2. Pork Bul Go Kee, the Kim Bab and two different sides of kimchi. It was a lot of food and a workout just walking it over from the front building to my car.

According to Guinness, the world record for holding your breath is 22 minutes and 22 seconds. I came close to that devouring nearly my entire meal in 15 minutes without breathing once. Have you ever blacked out while eating your food because it was so good? That was what I experienced.

Pork Bul Go Kee came with plenty of pork mixed in with a flavorful sauce and served with a side of pillowy soft steamed rice. My biggest pet peeve in Asian dining is hard steamed rice, so I truly appreciate good steamed rice. The dish is just a blast of spices that hit every part of your palate. I love it and it’s probably my favorite dish there.

The Kim Bab is best described as Korean sushi. It’s meat and veggies wrapped up in seaweed. It makes for a great appetizer for parties due to it being cut up in small pieces.

Then the kimchi is some of the best in town and documented on here many times before.

What makes Manna Wok a step better is the people. There are so many tremendously nice and down-to-earth owners in our restaurant community. But it should be noted the husband-wife duo Kye and Yon Chon are simply amazing.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
