Chester’s Chophouse & Wine Bar re-opened after a short temporary closing due to COVID-19. We were looking for something different for carryout. After seeing their current menu special, we decided on the steakhouse. I haven’t been to Chester’s since the ownership changed, so we figured now was a good a time as ever.

Chester’s has a Two for $50 special that includes two entrées, a salad, two sides and a dessert. We went with the 14oz NY Strip, Mustard Glaze Salmon, Corn and Mushrooms, Red Bliss Mashed Potatoes, and the Chocolate Hazelnut Tiramisu.
We opted for carryout even though delivery was an option. With their first day back in business, there was definitely some kinks needing to be worked out as they were running quite behind. It probably didn’t help everybody else also happened to call-in their orders as well.
Nonetheless, we received our food along with a wine pairing and made our way home.
Not pictured was our salad because we never received it. 🙁
I’m not sure if I’ve ever said it before but Chester’s corn is probably the best corn in the entire city. I’m not even sure what makes it so great but I love it every single time. Add in mushrooms which I’m addicted to and there’s no better side for me at that restaurant. I could have it as an entrée if given the option.
I had a single bite of the salmon which was great. While I’m not big on beans, I was told they were amazing and an amazing compliment to the salmon.
My NY Strip was cooked rare plus and they nailed it. There was a well-seasoned crusty layer seared around the steak that offered a nice texture to the tender cut of meat in each bite. For me, rarer is better and each piece of meat nearly melted in my mouth.
To end our meal, we completely devoured the Chocolate Hazelnut Tiramisu. I’m not exactly a sweets person but after trying this, I think tiramisu might be my favorite. It was so light, fluffy and dare I say the word……. moist?
The wait was a little longer than we were told but they were apologetic and we didn’t get our salads so that was a big miss. Definitely some things to work on but the rest of everything was good.
Update: After posting the blog, Chester’s actually reached out to me apologizing for the error. They offered me a free meal with delivery but I declined. After they insisted, they delivered a meal to my parents instead.
Here’s their menu:
Happy Dining,

Ate at Chester’s s few years ago and while the food and wine was very good the server had to have a flash light in order for us to read the menu. Why? I have no idea. Hope new management has corrected this.
