Owner and chef of local Wichita restaurant to appear on Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games

Have you ever watched Food Network’s competition series called Guy’s Grocery Games?  In the show four chefs compete in three elimination challenges testing their culinary skills as they make their way through the store’s aisles. Each challenge features a theme — such as using only items from frozen foods — and is judged by a rotating list of guest judges who determine which contestant is eliminated. The chef who makes it through all three challenges then has two minutes to go through the aisles collecting items on a shopping list. Each item on the list is worth $2,000 and if the chef gets every item, the $20,000 grand prize is awarded. The show is hosted by Food Network personality Guy Fieri.

The show is about to get some Wichita love. The owner of local Wichita restaurant The Kitchen, Chef Natasha Gandhi-Rue, was fortunate to be selected to be one of the chefs to play in Guy’s Grocery Games.

Filming already took place last year and the episode is set to air Wednesday, April 15 at 8pm CT on Food Network. It will be the Clearance Wars episode. Afterwards, there will be a live chat on Facebook to discuss the show you can join here.

The episode synopsis is: Guy gives four chefs a list of sale items they have to use over the course of the competition, with all of the required ingredients while making a high-end dinner in the first round.

I have my DVR set, do you?
