Wasabi Hinkaku Review

One of our latest stops for sushi took us to Wasabi Hinkaku which is separately owned from different Wasabi’s around town. We stopped in for a group lunch and see how it stacked up with all the other sushi spots in town.

I started off with a Tako Salad which was a healthy portion of marinated octopus. It was all very flavorful with little to zero fishy taste to it. The octopus was very tender; every bite was amazing.

For our lunch we had the following two rolls among others but these were the two I partook in:

  • To Heaven: Crab, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado rolled in fresh cucumber.
  • Baked Salmon: Crab, avocado, topped with salmon, and drizzled with unagi sauce, baked and served on fire.

I have to hand it to Wasabi, the rolls were incredible. They felt fresh with good portion-sizes of fish inside. One roll was enough to leave me quite satisfied over lunchtime. My colleagues all felt the same with everything they ordered.

The previous two times I stopped by the downtown Wasabi, the service was less than stellar. On this time around, I have to hand it to the crew. They were on top of things, the food came out quickly and the servers were very attentive.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
