After our visit to Tanganyika Wildlife Park, we were looking for lunch in the Goddard area. Our options to locally owned restaurants were extremely limited. With so few options, we eventually decided on Ginger Asian Cuisine. At the time of our stop, they only had carryout as an option so we made our order, waited roughly 10-15 minutes for our food and headed home.

The menu consisted mostly of Chinese dishes mixed in with other cuisines like Thai. For lunch we went with Thai Chicken Spring Rolls as our appetizer, Singapore Mei Fun with shrimp and Chicken Garlic Sauce with Jasmine Rice.
To start our Thai Chicken Spring Rolls were very disappointing. We weren’t sure if there was any chicken in them at all. They tasted no different than a basic vegetable spring roll you get from Dillons. On the bright side everything else went up from there. Our main entrées were a million times better.
The Singapore Mei Fun was a thin rice noodles dish which was gluten free and included assorted greens, scrambled egg and spicy curry sauce. I asked for a medium level heat and they really delivered. Each bite had a spicy kick that was very flavorful. I loved the soft, not-so-heavy texture of the thin rice noodles and the ample amount of shrimp. It was a delicious dish that filled me up.
The Garlic Sauce entrée was very simple but another quality meal that was loved at home. The thick sauce bound well with the chicken and veggies and when mixed in with the jasmine rice was an excellent pairing.
I had no idea what to expect on my visit to Ginger Asian Cuisine. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be another quick-service Chinese restaurant that pushed out bland dishes. That was not the case. They hit homeruns with their dishes that more than pleased our taste buds. Next time we make it out to Goddard, we’ll be sure to stop by again hopefully for dine-in.
