Since 1997, Wichita Fish Co has been a staple on West Douglas but all good things must come to an end.
The restaurant which has been selling fried tilapia filets, ahi tuna, halibut, salmon, bass, fried oysters, mahi mahi and more has decided to make a move after a change in their rental agreement.
Wichita Fish Co plans to close at the end of the month and hopefully in June they will be all set up in their new location at 818 N Mosley which previously held Rachel’s Kitchen. I’ve been to Rachel’s Kitchen before and the first thing that comes to mind is there will be a drop in total seating. I’m unsure of the total capacity but cannot envision it being close to what the current Wichita Fish Co space held.
It’ll be a big change for the restaurant which has been on West Douglas for years. Don’t forget there’s also their sister restaurant, Haysville Fish Co at 7301 S Broadway in Haysville, KS.
Once I hear of an opening date, I’ll let you all know.

Oh man! That’s a bummer! My daddy has gone go the fish co. for years. He will be sad to know they’re moving. =(
Hope the new place will be clean, the food is good but the place is a dump.
Rachel’s had amazing food I was surprised that they failed but I think it was the location. That’s a horrible place for a restaurant
