Let’s review Whataburger!
Our #SaturChains review takes another visit outside our usual Wichita coverage to Oklahoma where Whataburger can be found. The regional fast food restaurant chain was founded and is headquartered in Texas. There are over 650 locations in Texas alone. Another 150 can be found in New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma and the southern states.
For this particular review, we stopped to two different locations in Oklahoma City and Edmond, OK.
The restaurant chain has quite the cult following. I’m not afraid to admit that I have major love for Whataburger and always make it a point to stop by a minimum of two times when I’m in Oklahoma or Texas for a road trip.
Usually on my first stop, I get the double meat Whataburger, fries and ALWAYS the spicy ketchup. On my second trip, I settle for the single patty Whataburger. For fast food, the fries probably most resemble McDonald’s. They have a good crispy crunch to them and aren’t soggy. They were made perfect for dipping. As a huge condiment fan, the spicy ketchup is one of my favorite ones in all restaurants. I’m addicted to it and find myself eating more spicy ketchup than fries.
The burger itself is thin but wide which makes for a nice bed for all the toppings of onions, pickles, tomato, lettuce and mustard. With how thin it is, a double meat Whataburger is the perfect size. I’m not sure what it is about the meat that really stands out for me. Perhaps it’s the seasoning, perhaps it’s some secret additive they make it that keeps me coming back. But whatever it is, it’s my favorite fast food burger of the national chains; nothing even compares. I’ve been to Jack In The Box, In-N-Out, Shake Shack, White Castle, etc and in my own humble opinion Whataburger is tops.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
