This was supposed to mark the inaugural season of the Wichita Wind Surge at the new Riverfront Stadium that was set to open this summer. But the news many people were fearing but kind of expecting happened.
Because of COVID-19, Minor League Baseball officially canceled the 2020 season
It’s a tough blow to all the excitement and especially all the fans who purchased tickets and helped sell out what was supposed to be opening day.
Personally my buddies and I were looking forward to having some beers out at the new stadium and those plans will now be put on hold.
Who knows when live sports will return to Wichita.
