Visiting Tee Time Cafe in Clearwater, KS

It was time for another daddy/daughter breakfast date. We’ve been trying to find little breakfast spots around town that may not get as much love as others on social media or in the regular media. Thanks to a reader, we were told about a little cafe in Clearwater, KS called Tee Time Cafe. It’s a place I’ve never heard of which just piqued my curiosity even more. I asked my daughter if she wanted to go and received a blank stare. Sometimes it’s hard to get an answer from a one-year-old, so I took the blank stare as a yes, and we were on our way.

Tee Time Cafe also doubles as the clubhouse for the Clearwater Golf Course thus the name Tee Time. The walls were adorned with golf memorabilia and signage. Outside that, it really had your typical small-town diner feel to it.

Since we were there in the morning, they only had their breakfast available. We opted for a basic breakfast and went with some eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy and toast.

All in all, it was your no frills breakfast done right. Our eggs came out as ordered. The hash browns had a nice golden crispy layer to it. And the biscuits and gravy were the best part of our breakfast. There were little chunks of sausage in the delicious gravy. Underneath the smothering of gravy were soft doughy biscuits that melted in our mouths. Well, it melted it my mouth and was all over my daughter’s face.

Like I said earlier, there wasn’t anything unique or over the top with our breakfast which was fine. It was a simple breakfast, made to order and done right. I’ve never played at the 9-hole Clearwater golf course but will have to now before the summer ends. Once I do, I’ll be sure to try their lunch offerings.

It looked to be a family run restaurant with many regulars coming in. Everybody there was very nice and welcoming; exactly what I’d expect in a small-town diner.

Here’s the menu:

Happy Dining,

Looks like you missed out on the homemade sliced bread. It is the bomb toasted! Never had a bad meal there. It is definitely worth a trip from Wichita for any meal, breakfast lunch or dinner. Try their pies as well especially the Oreo Cheese cake! Great food and people.

  2. For breakfast The French toast is also really good. For lunch/dinner, you can’t beat the Texas wedge burger or the chicken fried chicken.

  3. I’m a big fan of their omelettes for breakfast and the roast beef for dinner. The homemade pies are great too! Every few months they do an all-you-can-eat fried chicken dinner. They bring out the nice dishes for that and decorate too – it’s a must attend event for me when they do these.
