Earlier this year, Taco John’s opened their Wichita location at Kellogg and West Street. That left the Wichita area with just one Taco John’s after the Derby location closed. I’ve been to the Wichita location a few times and I have to admit, I wasn’t a fan of their tacos. There was something about them I wasn’t a fan of. It all came down to personal preference (as it is with any food).
But on my last visit, I finally found something I liked.

I went in for breakfast and ordered a few breakfast burritos for a buddy and I along with some of their signature potato Olés I’ve been hearing about a lot.
Their breakfast burritos happened to be on special that day, so we ordered their meat & potato breakfast burrito, spicy chorizo breakfast burrito, and scrambler burrito.
With their special, the burritos came out to be a couple bucks each. When it comes to fast food breakfast burritos, McDonald’s is high up on our list. But Taco John’s did a fantastic job with their offering as they were stuffed with all the breakfast toppings you’d want.
By fast food standards, we were very pleased with their burritos and that’s even with a slight mess up in one of our orders. The potato Olés were little fried pucks that were warm and crispy. They were reminiscent of the Spangles hash browns.
All in all, an affordable, quick convenient breakfast; way better than the tacos.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
