Let’s talk about another fabulous place you can get carryout from: Chebaro Mediterranean Grill. It’s a restaurant located inside the Jump Start gas station at 127th and Central. It’s super convenient especially if you’re already there to get some gas. The prices are great and the food is even better…. and the people, even better than that.

When you step inside the gas station, you’ll see a little set up right next to the cashier with a super high sneeze guard.
On my last visit, I had the lamb bowl and decided to change things up this time.
I started off with hummus and chips. Their hummus was creamier and not as thick as some other places around town. Probably the biggest difference in their hummus though was the lack of a strong aftertaste. Some people may call it bitter or super sour aftertaste but Chebaro’s was really smooth from the first bite until long after you finished.
For $6.99, I received all of this and a drink. The lamb was nearly falling out of my container. There was so much lamb I was wondering where my rice was. With that, I also had a single piece of falafel which went great with one of their many sauces.
For the rest of my lunch, I went with their chicken bowl. Seriously, I got all this food for $6.99. It was more than I could handle.
The chicken was very tender, seasoned well and had a nice grilled kick to it. They gave me different sauces to try it with and whatever their spicy sauce was really hit the spot. I was highly impressed with everything.
And since they didn’t have dessert yet, I figured why not get some falafel?
I’ve really come to love Chebaro Mediterranean Grill. After speaking with the staff there, they said there’s a possibility of them expanding into another JumpStart store if business picked up which it had been. They’ve impressed me with their food and kindness and the least I can do is to continue to spread the word about this hidden gem.
