There was a time in my life when I got excited for happy hour at the bars. My friends and I would send texts back and forth on where we’d meet up after work. Life has changed quite a bit for me since those times and now my excitement for happy hour has evolved into food. Vora Restaurant European has had a happy hour menu for some time but recently added $1.25 oysters to it.
I’m a sucker for oysters and put it high on my to-do list.

Vora’s happy hour menu runs Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
But the oysters which were added recently are available for $1.25 every day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.!
At that price, I ordered 18 of them. I would have ordered more but I had dinner plans with family in a couple of hours.
Once they came out, it was just me and the oysters. I was perfectly placed in a tucked away area so nobody had to deal with my slurping noises.
The oysters themselves were plump and of course had a wonderful texture to them. The oyster liquor (or “oyster juice” as some people call it) was perfectly clear and provided the extra assistance to help slide the oyster off of the shell once I tugged it away with a fork. It was like a mini water slide right into my mouth. Yum.
Oysters can come in a variety of flavors and I found these to be quite mild, a little salty but delicious.
I cleared every shell in what felt like minutes. I sat there, happy and pleased with everything I had.
If you’re an oyster-loving fool like me, Vora’s happy hour is definitely worth the stop.
