First Look at the new Asia One location

The quick-service restaurant, Asia One, near 31st and Seneca recently moved buildings across the street. The new space allowed them to include a drive-thru which was perfect as they were only accepting curbside carryout and drive-thru orders. We dropped by to get a first look at the new location. When I say first look, I really mean order some food and eat since diners weren’t allowed inside.

For our order, we went with the Yaki Udon (fried udon noodles with chicken, shrimp, cabbage, carrot and onion) and their Teriyaki Chicken dish with steamed rice. It took maybe 10 or so minutes for the food to be brought out to my car after ordering.

The Teriyaki Chicken meal was insanely big. At $6.95, we were treated to a huge king-sized bed of rice topped with plenty teriyaki chicken to be shared throughout the house. The glaze was salty yet sweet and very delicious. Once combined with the fluffy rice, it made for quite the meal spread out over lunch and dinner. In short, awesome value and delicious.

The Yaki Udon was a step down from the Teriyaki Chicken but still worthwhile. There was no shortage of chicken or shrimp to go along with the udon noodles. I enjoyed it and had no problem finishing it. My only complaint was I wish the udon noodles were firmer. They had a softer texture that was on the verge of being mushy but that could very well be personal preference on a dish that still delivered on every other aspect.

All in all, we spent under $20 for two meals that essentially lasted us for both lunch and dinner. The portion sizes were fantastic which made for a great value. I was definitely pleased with everything which was a step up from my original visit to Asia One.

Would I go back? Yes.
