There’s a new Asian restaurant taking over the space Kanai vacated earlier this year. Lilikoi Asian Bistro is about a week and a half away from opening.
We originally broke the news in September of a new Asian restaurant coming to west Wichita. It now looks like Friday, December 11 will be the grand opening day for the restaurant that specializes in a Pacific Rim Asian fusion dishes.
The restaurant is being opened by Greg Cook, who most recently spent time as the executive chef at the Hyatt along with other stops at restaurants in Colorado Springs and Las Vegas. His restaurant which will be located at 12111 W Maple St. will be a welcome addition to the strip center which also houses Felipe’s and Twelve Restaurant.
Lilikoi translates to passion fruit and the restaurant which will have a full bar will feature many passion fruit themed cocktails on the menu.
As for the food, Lilikoi Asian Bistro will have dishes like Ahi wontons, mahi mahi and short ribs on the menu. The sushi bar inside Kanai has been replaced with a Build-Your-Own ramen bar. There will be roughly 12 different ingredients to choose from. Diners can then select how they would like to construct their ramen bowls.
Here’s their menu:
When Lilikoi Asian Bistro first opens, they plan on doing dinner service at the start. The plan would then be to expand for lunch over time.
Be on the lookout for our first look at the restaurant soon.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
