Readers have noticed renovations have started at the former Bob & Luigi’s space in Bel Aire at 4559 N. Woodlawn. Questions started coming in on the building which has been vacant since the Italian restaurant closed at the end of December. (Side note: There’s still a Bob & Luigi‘s in Andover).
After digging around, it looks as though a new restaurant will be taking over.
Sources have told me Playa Azul Mexican Restaurant is planning to open a restaurant there. Whether it will be called Playa Azul or a different name remains to be determined but what I am told is it will be a Mexican restaurant.
As renovations have recently started, I wasn’t given any time frame on when diners can expect it to be open.
