Dempsey’s Burger Pub Revisited

Dempseys Burger Pub

Not since Dempsey’s Burger Pub at Clifton Square opened have I written a revisited review on them. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve stopped by over the years and figured why not dedicate a blog to the popular College Hill burger restaurant? This is Dempsey’s Burger Pub Revisited.

Dempsey’s Burger Pub falls into a different category of burger restaurants. They are more of a gourmet burger style establishment which certainly draws its detractors to its price and what some people deem an unnecessary number of toppings on a burger. For me, it’s no big deal. I’m always of the opinion, if you like the food the price shouldn’t matter if its within reason.

A big draw for me at Dempsey’s has always been service. On our latest visit to Dempsey’s we had an amazing server. I wish I remembered her name but before leaving we had a discussion at the table about how good of a job she did. It was one of those amazing times when the server warranted a 50+% tip (and got one).

For our lunch we ordered the bacon mushroom Swiss burger, their special that day called the Taco Bout Burger which was black angus beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, and smothered in queso blanco. We also ordered truffle fries and then some nuggets and fries for the little one.

When it comes to a good hearty burger that will leave you full halfway through, Dempsey’s is right up there with the best. Between the two burgers, the Taco Bout Burger was pretty outstanding and the winner.  Everything about it from the guacamole, quest blanco and even the bun meshed so well together to make for one amazing lunch.

And not talked about enough on this blog at least are their fries. They have a few options that I love. You can’t go wrong with any of them. It just so happened this one day we went with truffle fries and they are incredibly addicting.

You don’t leave hungry. The service is 5-star worthy. The food is delicious. Dempsey’s is definitely in my top ten burger spots in Wichita.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy

  1. I find Dempsey’s to be an under-seasoned large patty of average quality. Relying on expensive toppings to compensate for a lack of seasoning and sear seems to be a recipe for success.
