East side Wichita restaurant closes after a slow fall season

The pandemic has been tough on many restaurants. For El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant, the fall season was terribly rough on the locally business located at 1320 E. Central Ave.

I spoke to the owner of El Mariachi and he noted that business was just too slow and they felt it was best to close the restaurant. The business which drew a good number of customers from the downtown area took a hit especially when many businesses started working from home. It’s an issue all too common in the industry. He is hoping the closure will just be temporary. If things get better, they could see a possible reopening in February but nothing is guaranteed.

To stay up to date if they will reopen, be sure to follow their Facebook page.
