A Cajun seafood bar set to take over east side Granite City building

We broke a story earlier this month that the Louisiana-based Cajun restaurant named Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux  was coming to Wichita and was headed to the take over the west side Granite City in New Market Square.

It appears that isn’t the only Granite City being taken over in Wichita. The east side Granite City at 2244 N Webb Rd which closed in 2017 looks like it will soon be housed by a Cajun restaurant as well.

A different Cajun and seafood restaurant is taking over the space and hopes to have a restaurant ready to go in there by April.

All the details were not made clear to me but I’m told the restaurant could be named Blue Hook. Sources tell me it could be tied to a Tennessee-based chain called Red Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar. If so, the restaurant offers fried and boiled seafood with custom spice levels and seasonings for each customer. On the menu, you’ll find fried chicken, shrimp and fish baskets, seafood (clams, crabs, lobsters and scallops) by the pound and sides like corn, sausage and fries.

I’m working on gathering more details but one thing that looks to be solidified is a restaurant will finally take over the east side Granite City space. Stay tuned for more on this story.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
