Love of Character
My daughter will be celebrating her second birthday in a few months, so that means it’s time to start planning what to do for her big day. I’m a big advocate that kids birthdays should be celebrated in a big way. It’s their one day a year when it’s truly all about them. While my daughter isn’t old enough to realize that yet, that won’t stop me from planning something which brought me to my latest stop.
I made a visit to Love of Character to see what they had and possibly draw some inspiration. Love of Character is a locally owned shop where you can buy paper goods, party supplies, gifts and more! They also have space for you to host fun events such as birthday parties, showers and get togethers.
They have two locations: one at Bradley Fair at 2142 N Rock Rd and one at 3200 E. Douglas which I visited.
The store has been around for five years. They had literally everything I could want to put together the perfect birthday party for my princess.
For starters, they had balloons galore.
There was also a huge selection of cards to choose from. It was so much I knew mom was going to need to have some input on this.
I remember for our daughter’s first birthday, I was all about getting cheap white paper plates to give out….such a dad move. That idea was quickly vetoed for fancy looking plates. Love of Character would have me covered….
With such a huge selection, I just started taking pictures of everything they had inside. This way I could just hand my photos over and say, “Here, why don’t you pick out what we should get?”
As mentioned earlier, they also have many gifts aimed at kids.
Love of Character was a pretty cool spot that offered a ton more creative selections than the big box stores. It was a cute quaint space that had “Perfect spot for my daughter” written all over it.
Check them out for yourself, their hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more, be sure to check them out on Facebook.
