Thursday, April 8 is National Empanada Day. The popular cuisine hailing from Argentina is not commonly found in Wichita, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t available. A home-based business called Argentina’s Empanadas recently started utilizing a commercial kitchen, The Founder’s Creative Kitchen at Reverie Roasters. They specialize in all things empanadas and want to make sure diners can celebrate properly.
Over the past couple of months, they’ve been working hard at expanding their selection of empanadas. When I first tried them last year, they only had beef and chicken available. Both were outstanding but I was eager to try more.
Two months ago, their new menu was unveiled:
On April 8, they are taking orders for their handcrafted artisan empanadas. It will be a curbside pickup only available event from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Reverie Coffee Roasters at 2202 E Douglas Ave.
Prices for the empanadas will be $3 for one or $28 for 12 + tax. All orders come with complimentary chimichurri sauce which is an olive oil base with fresh herbs and spices. It’s awesome, you definitely don’t want to miss out on the sauce.

If you cannot pick up on the 8th, they are also at Reverie on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for pickup and also offer local delivery.
