A new food trailer opened recently called F&N Foods LLC. According to their Facebook page, they specialize in BBQ, tacos, and sides. Being completely brand new in Wichita, I moved it to the top of my list of places to visit.

F&N Foods has quite the set-up with massive trailer specifically for their BBQ.
They seemed to still be getting situated when I arrived so I asked them for suggestions on what to order and they tossed out pulled pork and chicken. Since I saw ribs on the menu, I asked for the two meats they recommended along with the ribs. As for the sides, I also said, “toss whatever in you think is best.” I ended up with coleslaw and maple & brown sugar baked beans.
Starting off with the sides, we both agreed they were very delicious. The coleslaw didn’t have a strong mayonnaise flavor, sweetness or bitterness to it. We often eat coleslaw and call it quit after a couple of bites. Theirs was mild in flavor but to the point you wanted to eat and eat and eat and eat it. The beans while simple were still good as well. It was a great start to our shared lunch.
Moving on to the ribs, I enjoyed the sweet flavor of them. The meat came right off the bone with barely any tug. I know that’s a no-no to many BBQ purists, but there are a segment of people who like the “fall-off-the-bone” style of ribs. The pulled pork had a smokiness to them and once I topped it off with their hot BBQ sauce, I enjoyed it even more. The chicken, on the other hand, was a little on the dry side for my liking.
All in all, it was a good first visit to the new BBQ trailer. They told me they’ll be parking out at 4931 W. Central which is about a half-mile east of I-235. Right now, it appears they’ll be there on the weekends but you’ll want to follow their Facebook page to stay up to date on their whereabouts.
