■ Storytime in the Park | June 15
It’s the kickoff event for Storytime in the Park. This fun activity allows children to listen to two picture books while seeing the pictures on the big screen at Naftzger Park. Following the readings will be fun activities. This event is recommended for ages 2-6. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Cookies and drinks available for children while supplies last.
■ Wichita Wind Surge | June 15 – 20
The Wichita Wind Surge is back in town with a homestand against the Springfield Cardinals.
■ Food Truck Thursdays at Exploration Place | June 17
Food Truck Thursdays takes place every Thursday at Exploration Place. Different food trucks will be on hand every Thursday. Grab a drink from the bar, jam out to live music, play games, and more all while you enjoy our scenic view of the Keeper of the Plains. Plus, bring the whole family to check out their exhibits. The event is free for EP members. Guest rates run $15 in advance or $20 per car at the gate.
■ Tommy Davidson Comedy Night | June 17
You remember him from In Living Color as well as several other hilarious movies and TV shows! He has returned to his roots as a stand up and will be at Vorshay’s for one night only! Tickets are $25 each on Eventbrite or $30 at the door day of show.
■ ICT Bee – Adult Spelling Bee | June 17
As a former grade school spelling bee champion, I think this is pretty cool. It’s an adult spelling bee to benefit for Dear Neighbor Ministries. The event is live or you can watch the spelling bee virtually.
■ Wichita Open | June 17 – 20
One of my favorite local past times is hanging out all day on the 17th hole at the Wichita Open at Crestview Country Club.
■ Night At The Fountains | June 18
The monthly food truck event takes place at the Wichita WaterWalk starting at 6 p.m.
■ 14th Annual Fly-In at Stearman | June 19
This is an all day event. All kinds of aircraft will be at Stearman Field Bar & Grill in Benton, KS throughout the day. Live music by PATZ from Noon-4 p.m. & Lucky People from 7-11:00 p.m. This is a time when you get to walk around on the tarmac and get up close to aircraft. Breakfast buffet from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Look for kid zone, beer gardens, and food tents.
■ Wichita Festival of the Arts | June 19
Starting at 12 p.m., over 35 local vendors will be on-site to showcase our community’s talents in arts and entertainment. Enjoy the music, take in a performance, or peruse the booths. The Kansas Wildlife Exhibit will have their daily animal feeding at noon and will be available to discuss the exhibit inhabitants with you. The event takes place at Riverside Park and is free to the public.
■ Sun Valley Farm Market Day | June 19
The third annual Sun Valley Farm Outdoor Market takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy the live music, petting zoo, hayrack rides, bouncy inflatables for kids, and Bar-BQ. Of course, they will show off our talented vendors with their homemade, handcrafted, and homegrown goods to sell. You’ll find them nestled right off of a paved road at 9801 N. Broadway, Valley Center.
■ June Artisan Market at The COOP | June 19
Join The Coop for their outdoor market featuring local goods, fresh food & beverages, games, and live music! The market will take place in their parking lot at The COOP at 104 N Baltimore Ave Derby, KS from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. but their store is also open normal hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
■ Midnight Magic with Heather Jay | June 19

Come walk the aisles at the Kansas Star Casino Arena and shop small through the 200+ booths that include antiques, crafts, vintage items, collectibles, primitives, reclaimed items, comics, artwork, jewelry, toys, and so much more in this monthly flea market operated by a local Wichita Family.
■ Father’s Day | June 20
