A Visual Guide to Rock’s Dugout

Rock’s Dugout

If you’re looking for sports memorabilia or cards in town, there’s a high likelihood you’ve been to Rock’s Dugout. They’ve been a Wichita staple since 1977, originally located in the now-closed Rose Bowl East bowling alley. Since 2003, they moved to Northrock Lanes at 3232 N. Rock Road.

I have so many memories of going to Rock’s Dugout over the years. Whether it was to browse around, attend their many shows, look for Shocker memorabilia or old vintage cards and more memorabilia, I’ve always enjoyed stepping inside to see what they had.

The store is owned by Cathy and Joseph “Rock” Ruocco; two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Part of the allure for me is not just sports history that can be found inside but chatting with Ruocco and listening to his Bronx accent.

Rock’s Dugout carries a bit of everything. They have jerseys, signs, cards, signed basketballs, baseballs and footballs, helmets, toys, boxing gloves, and so many various pieces of memorabilia ranging from decades ago to present day. There’s literally something for everyone.

I’ve purchased many things from Rock’s Dugout over the years. To the point, where I don’t even have room for it but can’t stop. Those who share the same passion of collecting sports memorabilia know what I’m talking about.

As mentioned earlier, you can find them inside Northrock Lanes at 3232 N Rock Road. Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on Sunday and Monday. For more, visit their Facebook page.
