I have some sad news to share. The Hot Pl8 is closed for good.
If you’ve never heard of them, they were a Filipino food truck that opened in 2019. They were one of my new favorite food trucks of that particular year and offered some delicious food that wasn’t available anywhere else.
I reached out to the owners to see what their schedule was looking like for this year. They shared with me, they had to move to Texas for family and will resume operations down there.
With their closing, that’s two Filipino food trucks that have closed in the past few years with the other being the Kamayan Truck. Wichita’s now on a drought of Filipino cuisine and that leaves me incredibly sad.
