What to expect at The Cowboy Inn Saloon

The Cowboy Inn Saloon

As mentioned in some previous blogs, I’m slowly trying to make it around Wichita checking out the local bar scene, especially the dives. I’m very much drawn to dive bars which are my favorite type of drinking establishments to frequent. For my latest visit, I stopped by The Cowboy Inn Saloon.

Most of the dives I frequent are typically south of Kellogg, so I’ve never been here before. They are located at 642 N. St. Paul and reopened after a major renovation about a year ago. From what some people told me, they did a fantastic job of cleaning the place up.

The single biggest reason I stopped by was because of their patio. Many readers recommended it to me. It was very spacious and kind of reminded me of being in someone’s backyard which is often the best place to have a drink. There was plenty of seating, a grassy area and the fences had the feel of a saloon. There was even a bar out back.

Inside, there was a rustic dive appeal that drew me in. The pool area with the wooden look reminded me a bit of The Cedar which was reminiscent as that was my second home in college.

Of course, I had to get my favorite drink while there, a vodka water.

If you’ve never been, The Cowboy Inn Saloon is located at 642 N. St. Paul. They are open seven days a week with regular hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and then from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday according to their Facebook page.

If you get hungry, they do have a very limited food menu:
