A new local cooking show hosted by Susan Peters debuts on Tuesday

Starting Tuesday, July 20, a new cooking show called The Family Dinner Table will air on PBS at 2:30 p.m. Each month, the well-known and former news anchor, Susan Peters will join a well-known, local chef or an extraordinary family cook, as they prepare his or her signature dish. The chef will use a family recipe handed down through generations.

What many people may not know is the Emmy-award winning journalist has had a long-time passion for cooking.

“For many years, I have wanted to do a cooking show, but it takes a special group of people to make it happen. I am thrilled that PBS Kansas and our show’s underwriters are making this new local show possible,” said Peters. “I believe that when families come together around the dinner table, families come together. I hope viewers enjoy the show.”

Peters’ first guest will be first guest, Chef Luis Peña of Butler’s Culinary Program.
