Bite Size News 8/25/21: Donut Palace, Wheatly’s, Taco Rio & More

I always see important news regarding restaurants. So, I figured why not put a bunch together when I see it for some quick hits on good things to know like temporary closings, hours changing, vacations, openings, etc?

VietNom Nom: This west side Vietnamese restaurant has new temporary hours: Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed on Sunday.

Wheatly’s Burgers: As the new burger restaurant located on the Wichita State campus seeks more staff, their current hours will be Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

McAlister’s Deli: The McAlister’s Deli at 7130 W. Maple has temporarily closed for remodeling. The restaurant plans to reopen on Friday, September 3.

Funky Monkeys Shaved Ice: The end of season date for Funky Monkeys is fast approaching. Their south Rock Road location will close on August 29 while their Woodlawn location will close at the end of September. Both will reopen in March.

Donut Palace: The popular Broadway donut shop has changed their hours. They will close earlier and be open daily from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pho H&M: The Vietnamese restaurant that took over the Pho Hien space will be closed for vacation and reopening on Friday, August 27.

Taco Rio: Due to staff shortages, the restaurant has decided to close on Wednesday, but will reopen Thursday, August 26.

Martinelli’s Little Italy: The Salina Italian restaurant is now closed on Sunday and Monday through September.
