First Look at the relocated The Easy Egg Breakfast & Lunch

After originally starting in Haysville, The Easy Egg Breakfast & Lunch made the move to the “big city” of Wichita and took over the space previously held by Denny’s on West Kellogg. My daughter and I stopped by to get a quick first look at what diners could expect.

Inside, not much was done to renovate the space. It looked like a pretty simple turnkey operation and a space that was perfect for The Easy Egg to take over. We went on their first day, but I’m not sure anybody would have realized that. The staff was all over the place, taking care of everything and looking like they had been in that space for years. They did an excellent job all morning with all their patrons on our visit.

We kept our order very simple for the first day. My daughter and I split a half-order of banana bread French toast, hashbrowns, one scrambled egg and fries.

The banana bread French toast was banana bread dipped in their homemade French toast butter and topped with fresh bananas, blueberries, pecans and caramel sauce. It was a very heavy and rich dish, yet delicious. The fruits balanced out the richness of the meal, except for me, I didn’t get much of it. My daughter picked off all the strawberries and blueberries. If I ordered this dish again, I’d also get something light to accompany it. The hashbrowns were cooked well; I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy layer over the top.

What I really want to do is return soon for lunch. I think that’s what really sets many of the breakfast places apart… “How awesome of a lunch do they put out?”

But for our first visit over breakfast, we had zero complaints. The service was outstanding and our breakfast was spot on. Stay tuned for a revisited review over lunch.
