One of my favorite taco spots in town is the ever popular Taco Fajita. Why are they one of my top choices? It comes down to four reasons. Their dollar tacos, the machete, the delicious sauces and the folks that work there. They recently had to close down temporarily for a remodel, but have since opened back up. I stopped by to check out the new space and wow, it looks great!

While Taco Fajita stayed in the same building, they expanded and moved the dining room to the north end of the building. There’s even a new entrance door at the north side, which confused many people. The expansion made room for roughly twenty tables and gave the staff more room to work with in the kitchen. The interior was a million times more inviting than the previous dining room.
Since I was there, I figured why not grab some tacos to go? The most popular item at Taco Fajita is the dollar taco, which is that same price every day. This allows everybody to celebrate Dollar Taco Tuesday from Tuesday to Saturday.
It should be noted, their tacos are a bit smaller than a standard street taco. But what they lack in size, they make up for in flavor. I’ve never had a bland, boring, taco from Taco Fajita. Every one has been seasoned well, with the meats placed on a lightly grilled single tortilla. The product quality doesn’t suffer when choosing carry out. It’s just as good dining in as it is taking it home.
Of all the meat options, my favorite is the suadero, aka the special seasoned beef. It’s sweet, yet savory and something I have to order at least 7-8 of on every visit.
Make sure you don’t forget about the sauces, either. There’s a mild, a spicy gauc and an atomic orange hot sauce that will leave you wanting more. It’s the type of heat that hits you but goes away soon after. Of course, that’s all dependent on your tolerance for heat. Of all the hot sauces, theirs is my favorite.
Do yourself a favor and grab a Jamaica or Pineapple drink which pairs well with any of their tacos.
People love a good value and one of the best ones can be found at Taco Fajita. Go and check out their new space.
