You may have seen it on the news. On Nov. 21, Autumn Haverkamp was brutally attacked and stabbed while walking to her car in downtown Wichita. Injuries included a lacerated liver which required emergency surgery. Since then, Haverkamp has incurred many medical bills and has been unable to work.
A GoFundMe was started to help with those bills, but many local businesses including Public at the Brickyard where Haverkamp is employed at are doing more to help with an event called Show the Love for Autumn.
From Sunday, Dec. 12 to Wednesday, Dec. 15, seven restaurants and breweries will be donating a portion of their sales to benefit Haverkamp. Each day, you can choose from 1-2 places to visit and know that part of your dining dollars will go back to help someone who works in our local restaurant scene.
The days are as follows:
Sunday, Dec. 12:
Mort’s Martini and Cigar Bar
The Monarch
Monday, Dec. 13
Wichita Brewing Company
Lucky’s Everyday
Tuesday, Dec. 14
Central Standard Brewing
Norton’s Brewing Company
Wednesday, Dec. 15
Public, featuring beers donated by Free State Brewing
As a kicker, The Public team will celebrate their amazing manager on Wednesday night with a 100% proceeds night.
