Christmas themed pop-ups have been appearing in Wichita and we’ve made it a goal to visit everyone of them. One of them you don’t want to miss is Sparky’s at the Belmont at 3555 E. Douglas. It’s taken over the waiting area called The Flower Shop, next door to the Belmont.
Sparky’s opened earlier this month and will run until at least January. The pop-up bar is open from 5 to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursday and Sundays and then 5 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s 21+ to enter and reservations are encouraged.
Upon entering, you’ll notice a life-size cutout of Chevy Chase greeting you. Chase, as many of you know, was nicknamed “Sparky” in the movie “Christmas Vacation” along with all the other Vacation movies and thus the name “Sparky’s”.
At Sparky’s, you’ll find two levels of festive and merry furnishings. One of the coolest parts about Sparky’s is the ceiling of the lower level just above the bar. You’ll find an over-the-top decoration with ornaments, presents, and lights that’s reminiscent to a bar called Rolf’s in New York.
Once upstairs, the allure continues to impress with lights coming down from the ceiling, Christmas trees, wrapping paper on the wall and even a fireplace!
A specialized menu with four holiday-themed cocktails is available along with their current cocktail menu.
It’s just another one of the fun adult attractions in Wichita for Christmas fun. For more, check out The Belmont on Facebook.
