It can get really cold in Wichita; so cold that you don’t want to leave the house. Finding the energy and drive to face the wind chill can be hard. Those days it snows, the drive gets even worse. 1.) Grab some family and friends and head to any of the escape rooms in Wichita. You’re stuck in a room with them, focused on solving every puzzle required to escape. Check out: The Room, Entrap Games, or Escapology.
2.) A whole family experience that allows you to use your imagination and experience science in interactive ways is available at Exploration Place.
3.) Head to Norton’s Brewing Co. and rent an outdoor igloo! Even though you’re outside in the elements, the igloo keeps you protected with your own heater, tables and chairs…. oh yeah, alcohol will help keep you warm as well.
4.) Is there any warmer place in the house than the kitchen while you’re opening the oven and placing that delicious dish inside? Cooking classes galore are available throughout town to help perfect your culinary skills.
5.) You’ll want to step out in the cold weather, once you build up a sweat doing some rock climbing at Bliss Climbing & Fitness.
6.) So many live sporting events to be had in Wichita right now. The men’s and women’s Wichita State Shockers basketball seasons are underway. Check out the Wichita Wings at Hartman Arena or the Wichita Thunder at Intrust Bank Arena.
7.) Games. Games. Games. Whether it’s pinball, classic arcade games, prize machines, there are so many options around town like Dave & Busters, Round1, Pizza Ranch, Emerson Biggins, Chuck E. Cheese, The Arcade, and Headshot Bar & Grill.
8.) Get old school and check out some old-fashioned slot car racing at 3:16 Slotcar Raceway.
9.) Purchase a ticket, grab a seat and watch some of the best performers in town. There’s no shortage of entertainment available at Roxy’s Downtown, Crown Uptown Theatre, Mosley Street Melodrama, Prairie Pines Playhouse, Music Theatre of Wichita, Kechi Playhouse, The Forum Theatre, or the Century II Performing Arts Center.
