A new 5-screen movie theater is opening inside Towne West this spring

Ever since Bill Warren sold his movie theaters in Wichita, moviegoers have said things haven’t been the same. Boulevard Theatres hopes to change all that when they open inside Towne West.

It’s set to take over the former Warren Movie Machine that sat at the west end of the mall and closed in the fall of 2020. Renovations are nearly complete on the theater, which should be ready by March.

Once it opens, they will show new movies. Prices for tickets will be very competitive, with evening adult tickets at $8 + tax, while matinee prices are $6.50 + tax. Tickets for children will always be $5 + tax. I’ve gone to the Warren Movie Machine plenty of times and always enjoyed stopping by for a quick matinee showing. Looks like I’ll get to have that opportunity again soon, only in a nicer, cleaner setting!

Once the theater opens, the number you’ll want to remember is 844-2583 (BLVD). Perhaps, they’ll come up with a super catchy jingle like the Starlite Drive-In.

Stay tuned for our first look at the new theater when it opens.
