Who else was raised on Little Debbie treats? If you love fusion foods and zany creations, this is the one for you. Little Debbie ice cream is exactly what you need to try.
Hudsonville Ice Cream has partnered with Little Debbie to launch seven ice cream flavors inspired by the classic treats we all have known for years. There was a nationwide launch at Walmart’s across the country on February 1. Luckily, there were three flavors still in stock when I stopped by. Even though, I was really hoping to try all seven, I’ll settle for three.
Fortunately, these flavors will be available for the entire year. Walmarts in Wichita are selling the pints for $2.50 each. The following flavors are:
- Oatmeal Creme Pies
- Honey Buns
- Nutty Bars
- Swiss Rolls
- Cosmic Brownies
- Zebra Cakes
- Strawberry Shortcake Rolls
I got my hands on the Oatmeal Creme Pies, Honey Buns and Swiss Rolls for my family to try. They weren’t exactly thrilled at the idea, but when you live with me, these are sacrifices you have to make.
Everybody was given their spoon and we all dug in on the three flavors.
I’m not a huge ice cream person, but thoroughly enjoyed them. My family, who was really hesitant, tried the flavors and were all very surprised. In fact, their quote was “I’m surprised, these are actually really good!” This proved my point that you should always try any food with an open mind.
The majority of the group felt that the Oatmeal Creme Pies were the best, but only if you got some oatmeal chunks with it. Otherwise, it was really just vanilla ice cream. The second favorite was Honey Buns as the cinnamon really stuck out. Everyone was lukewarm on the Swiss Rolls, but more so because the other two flavors were much better.
We really want to get our hands on the remaining four flavors: Nutty Bars, Cosmic Brownies, Zebra Cakes and Strawberry Shortcake Rolls. I have a feeling the latter will be my favorite if I can find it.
If you can’t find them now, just wait, as they’ll be stocking the shelves more throughout the course of the year.
