Who likes to drink for a good cause? The Monarch is back with Behind The Bar: Guest Bartending. It’s an event to have people around the community sit behind the bar, serve some drinks and raise money for charity.
The latest installment takes place, Monday, March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. as a Wichita people who are very active in Wichita, Pat & Jackie Gearhart, get to test their bartending skills, while raising money for Rainbows United. All proceeds from their signature drink as well as a portion of sales that night will help to support special needs children and their families in our community.
Don’t fee like drinking? Stop by and leave them a tip! (Cash is always accepted; checks may be made out to Rainbows United)
If you’re unfamiliar with Rainbows United, here’s a snippet of what they do in the community:
At Rainbows, we provide many vital services for children with special needs, birth through age 21, and their families. We are on the leading edge of implementing the latest, most effective therapies for children with developmental delays. We are the regional leader in early childhood development, including on-site educational child care and pre-kindergarten classes. We are the experts who are called to visit the hospital hours after a baby is born who will face developmental challenges. We are homegrown and nationally recognized; a grateful recipient and responsible steward of our contributions and resources. We willingly serve everyone — the family with the ability to pay for services, and our neighbors with few options and resources.
