People have noticed the bright neon signs for almost a year and wondering when Douglas Social would open. The time has come. The new neighborhood bar in the Douglas Design District at 2518 E. Douglas is now ready to start pouring drinks and giving people a chill place to hang out.

One of the first things you see as you walk up to Douglas Social is their patio facing the east side of the building with retractable garage doors.
As you enter the 3,500 square-foot space, the main attraction is the big bar space with plenty of seating surrounding it. The only option for food is drinking your dinner. Craft beers on tap and cocktails fill the menu. I did ask about the possibility of having food trucks and was told that was an option in the future.
It was very old school inside in the fact that it was unassuming and didn’t rely on anything fancy to draw in customers. It had that vibe where you could go order some drinks, hang out and not worry about the stresses of life. Douglas Social was first and foremost a bar.
